This charger is fast and it does charge all batteries i have, including Sony, Panasonic and Duracell. It may have problem charging some old Nimb batteries where it red leds flashes but you can manually discharge those batteries until the empty (use them in any high drain devices) and try again. 3/4 worked for me.Digital camera Review: Great Charger, so far

I bought this charger for my Canon Powershot S1 IS after depleting in less than 70 shots two sets of 4 AA non rechargable alkaline batteries (Energizer and Duracell). I am using already the 4 AA 2,200 mAH batteries that come with the charger. The batteries were ready and fully charged in 15 minutes!, as advertised and didn't get hot because the charger has a built in small fan that cools the batteries during the charge. Leave the batteries 5 to 10 minutes in the charger after the LED green light indicates that the batteries are fully charged only the first time the batteries are charged, it is recommended by the battery makers and they know why this has to be done. The charger is made in China, the batteries are made in Japan. However the charger doesn't plug directly into the outlet, it comes with an adapter (only 110v) and neither the charger nor the adapter will fit into the Canon Camera Case that has room for only 4 spare batteries that you will not need if you carry the charger set with you. Other than the size, this is an excellent and well priced (around US 30.00$) set of rechargable batteries and battery charger. A must for any high drain digital camera that uses 4 AA batteries as the Canon Powershot S1 IS does.Digital camera Review: Great Fast Chargers Worth the $$$

Bought this charger for less than $30 for my Canon Powershot S1 IS (which needs 4 AA to operate) and they work as advertised! I even use them to charge the 2300mAH rechargable AA batteries (Energizers of course) n it still takes only 30 minutes tops! I've seen chargers cost more than $30 that would take all night to charge even 1800 mAH batteries. Only one other charger i know of that supposedly charges less than 30 mins is the Rayovac 15min charger but they cost more n so are the Rayovac rechargable batteries (the only rechargable Rayovac batteries u can buy that allows u to charge at 15 mins - is only rated at 2050 mAh- any other kind like nimh batteries take all night). Bought mine at Walmart where it comes with 4 1800 mAh niMh batteries along with the charger to get u started. IMO, the Energizer charger is an excellent accessory for any AA/AAA battery-powered hungry gadget u have without spending a fortune.Digital camera Review: Great Product Beats the rest

Can you reharge the lower mah batteries in the 15 minute charger? Our charger came with the 2500's but we also have some of the 1700 mah from a couple of years ago.
Overall we have loved theses batteries for anything from gameboys to radio's
