I agree with at least one review on this charger's tendency to be a bit picky. I'll say first that I love the speed with which this charger works when it does accept a battery. The batteries heat up and there is an odd smell, but the built in fan gives some piece of mind. I've never quantified how long it takes for these batteries to die, but they all experience heavy use in our household with kids, light-sensing devices, digital camera etc. and I prefer repeated use and charging to adding more junk to our landfill. It IS IMPORTANT, however, to have a regular slow backup charger for those batteries it refuses to accept (red charger light blinks to indicate it doesn't like a battery).Digital camera Review: No Heat & Heck the Fan has never come on it has Charged 40 AA's straight

I wish I knew what this other gentlemen was referring to because I have two of these now one at home and one at my business. All of my Batteries were dead all at once all my keyboards 5 @ 4 batteries each, and 5 mouse @ 2 each and a couple remote controls and miscellaneous other energizer rechargeable batteries some AAA also but my point being I ran it through a total of 50 batteries and the charger was sitting on the carpet and not once did the fan come on and not one battery was even WARM so Jerry I would say you have a damaged unit I would not use anything but this charger in fact I just purchased on for Home use which I will also take in the car since it does come with an adapter. I give 5 Stars two thumbs up and would recommend it as the main charger not a secondary!Digital camera Review: No charge

I'm not entirely positive whether the charger or the batteries are at fault. I put in the batteries, plugged in the charger, and when they were apparently done charging, they did not work. I've tried using them in my camera and in a Wii remote with no success. Neither device worked with the "charged" batteries. I wish I would have wasted my money on something more fun.Digital camera Review: No complaints

I bought the Energizer 15 minute charger about 2 months ago. I have a slightly different one, which includes a 12 volt plug in addition to the 110 volt "home" plug.
I have used it several times and have had no issue getting batteries to seat in the charger properly, nor have I had issues with the rejection of batteries. This is the third Energizer charger I've bought, in fact, and have had zero issues with any of them. The only reason I've bought additional was due to the original being a pokey overnight charger, then i purchased another, which was more compact for travel, but still a slow charger. Finally i found a good 15 minute charger and bought it.
I recommend this item.

This charger was so unreliable. It would reject a lot of batteries. I could never gauge if it was the battery or the charger. I got another cheaper charger and it charged them without a problem.
