Digital camera reviews of Energy 5.1 Take Classic Home Theater System (Set of Six, Black)Digital camera Review: .Energy 5.1 Classic Home Theater System Summary: 5 Stars
Top quality design and sound. Clear and powerful sound. Not to small and not to big, perfect size. The price is excellent for this sound system. It was well worth buying this item online than the local stores. The local stores dont have variety and only sale top brands at high prices, not necessary top quality. Hope this manufacture continues to make more products like this one.
Digital camera Review: Absolutely Astonishing! Summary: 5 Stars
I have recently purchased this system paired with a Denon AVR1508. And all I can say is WOW!
I originally purchased the POLK RM705 package, and kept them all of 2 days, brought those back and got the Klipsch Quintet III paired with the KSW10 subwoofer, on both systems all the satellites' did was nothing but scream at you and the subwoofer distorted at low to medium levels regardless of what I threw at it, music or home theater (KSW10 not quite as bad). Needless to say they went back as well, I know I am picky! I was going to give up on the 5.1 package and go get bookshelf speakers or towers.
However ENERGY has changed my view on the 5.1 kit! ENERGY has also made very nice high end speakers for a while now, which have always been very efficient, crisp and clean, and they have done it again! Music and Home Theater purely sound superb! The satellites' do not scream which helps the subwoofer compliment the overall sound, hence not missing the mid range. This helps in accomplishing the full sound that I believe we all desire.
I do only have one small complaint. I do have to turn the subwoofer down when jamming normal music (stereo 2.1) or there will be slight distortion from the subwoofer, however for the money and the fact the 5.1 systems are pretty much entirely designed for movies... top notch! And a slight turn of the knob once or twice a year when the time calls for really cranking up the volume, not a huge issue!
As far as home theater no subwoofer issues there! The subwoofer produces extremely clean, tight, deep bass, which makes any explosion or thunder shake the couch. The satellites' in any listening configuration are absolutely unbelievable, clean, clear, crisp, enabling you to hear fingers actually sliding over the guitar strings as they are being strummed, incredible!
Do yourself a favor and go listen to these if you are in the market for a 5.1 system and make sure to bring the check book as you will need it, I did!
I hope this helps as this is a fairly new HT system and there are not a whole lot of reviews out there, but the ones that are, seem to agree with mine!
Digital camera Review: Absolutely Astonishing! Summary: 5 Stars
These speakers are AWESOME!!!! You will not believe how powerful this little set is. I paired my set with a DENON AVR-1911 Receiver, and all I get is crisp clear sound, even at the higher volumes! Bass can be toned down or turned up to shake the house status, depends on your liking. Even the evening news is now an event. Can't recommend this speaker system enough. Nothing comes close in this price range. You'd expect to pay over $900 to get something with comparable sound quality. If you are looking 5.1 setup this is it.
Digital camera Review: Affordable brilliant sound Summary: 5 Stars
I was a little hesitant about buying a surround sound at first, but was totally worth it. Music that I've listened to in the past sounds like new now. I can pick up on every individual instrument now as through listening through a stereo.
Digital camera Review: Amazing Summary: 5 Stars
I paired these with an ancient Pioneer VSX-D411 5.1 Amp. For those of you worried that you need a new amp to go with these speakers, the answer is not really. The speakers are still great. I'll eventually upgrade the amp to get a HDMI capable one for the losless/HD sound. But for now these speakers are wonderful.
The center speaker is amazing, you really can hear the actors voices clearly over loud music or effects. The rear speakers are very pronounced, you can hear background noise very well and get a better sound stage. For $400 (at the time of this review) you can't beat these speakers. I went into a BOSE store this weekend and all of their speakers sounded just as good as these, except these speakers only cost $400.
The only negative I'd say is the subwoofer is to me, huge. Others said it was small, I guess that is relative. While the sattelite speakers are definitely small, the subwoofer is not what I would call small and difficult to place.
Also, others said the speakers are difficult to mount to a wall. I don't think so at all. They may have missed that there are several screw options on the back. (I actually bothered to read the instructions). I mounted my speakers to the wall with no problems.
For a medium to small room, these speakers are perfect. If you have a very large room you may want to consider more powerful speakers and amp.
