Digital camera reviews of Energy 5.1 Take Classic Home Theater System (Set of Six, Black)Digital camera Review: Big sound from a small package Summary: 5 Stars
I paired the speakers with an Onkyo sr507 receiver and I couldn't be happier. As for the stands I went with the Atlantic satellite and made them work. These were not the recommended stands and I did have to "persuade" them a little. I originally tried to purchase Energy Take classic but the seller (Electronics Expo) was out of stock. The seller immediately contacted me and offered to send me the Micro's for the same price which was quite a deal. I was a little nervous about getting speakers this small for a large living room. The room I put these in is not only large but completely open. The speakers sound amazing!!! Some have commented about these not sounding great with music and I have to disagree. I like loud music and these little gems can kick out the jams. I originally placed the sub in the corner and now have it positioned next to the front right speaker and it sounds much better. I also did contact the manufacture with several newbie questions and they were great.
The best thing about Amazon is the customer reviews. I was going to buy a completely different set up but I'm glad I did the research. Knowing that another customer has the exact same set up made my decision so much easier. Buy these speakers and you won't be disappointed.
Digital camera Review: Couldn't be Happier Summary: 5 Stars
These speakers are the real deal. For anyone looking for an all-in-one solution to their home theater needs at great value - look no further. I went with the Energy Take 5 after reading hords of positive reviews and here I am writing one of my own. The bass is thunderous and responsive, the satellite speakers are sharp and clear, and the center channel is a beast that does all of the aforementioned. Lastly, they look subtle and classic just as their name indicates. Their neutral, understated appearance will integrate nicely into any living room, and their movie-theater like sound will compliment any multimedia experience. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up.
Digital camera Review: Couldn't be better Summary: 5 Stars
This was my first 5.1 surround speaker purchase. I have the speakers hooked up to a Sony STR-DN1000 7.1-Channel Audio Video Receiver . The rear speakers receive the sound wirelessly via the Sony EZWT100 S-AIR Signal Transmitter placed in the back of the A/V unit and the Sony WAHT-SA20 - Wireless audio delivery system for rear speakers.
Having come from listening to games and movies from my TV speakers (Sony XBR-8), the change is indredible. The sound quality and punch of these things is hard to describe given their relatively small size. As an example, when I calibrated the speakers using the auto-calibration microphone on my A/V receiver, it determined the satelite speaker size to be large.
The speakers themselves are very attractive - they have a black piano gloss finish and feel substantial and well made. The powered sub-woofer is made with the same finish. In addition, the binding posts on the speakers are excellent - they are proper gold plated "screw-in" bindings - not the weak spring loaded clips you see on many speaker packages at this price level. They can easily cope with 14 gauge braided speaker wire. In addition, the speakers also have both a "picture hook" and a threaded hole in the back so you can mount them on almost any wall mounting system you choose.
I really can't come up with anything negative to say. Perhaps the blue LED light indicating that the subwoofer is active is a little bright when the room is dark, but honestly, if that is the biggest problem I can find with these things then life must be very good indeed!
At this price, this speaker system is an absolute no-brainer.
Digital camera Review: Didn't know what I was missing Summary: 5 Stars
I did a lot of research and found overwhelmingly positive reviews for this on a variety of sites before buying. I replaced a 5.1 set of about 3 year old Sony speakers.
I pulled the Energy speakers out of the box and the satellite speakers are tiny. Even the center channel speaker is quite a bit smaller than my original. The small size is extremely deceiving. I never realize what sounds I was missing in my old speakers. Watching Slumdog Millionaire on Blu-ray the smallest of sounds such as birds, creaking ropes, rain and other background noises are crystal clear...and greatly add to the appreciation of the movie.
The big difference other than producing amazing sound, is that even on quiet the dialogue is much clearer. I had to crank up my old speakers to higher volumes to properly hear dialogue.
I put Saving Private Ryan in....and wow...I thought I was in the battle....the scene at the end where the tanks approach the town...amazing.
Highly recommend. You probably won't know what you missing until you hear them.
Digital camera Review: ENERGY 5.1 TAKE CLASSIC Summary: 5 Stars
AMAZING! Bought the Energy Take Classic HT system to be paired with my Pioneer VSX-1020 receiver. I have been more than blown away. I think it sounds better everyday I use it, if that's possible. If you're on the fence about buying another speaker system over the Energy Take Classic...trust me, go with ENERGY.
