Digital camera reviews of Energy 5.1 Take Classic Home Theater System (Set of Six, Black)Digital camera Review: ENERGY 5.1 TAKE CLASSIC Summary: 4 Stars
THESE SPEAKERS AT FIRST SIGHT ARE VERY ATTRACTIVE AND SOPHISTICATED LOOKING. CONECTING THE SPEAKERS IS A BREEZE AS THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC LEFT FRONT, LEFT REAR, RIGHT FRONT, RIGHT REAR SPECIFICS ON PLACEMENT. THE FRONTS AND REAR SPEAKERS ARE IDENTICAL. THE CENTER CHANNEL AND SUBWOOFER ARE OBVIOUS. CONNECTING THE SUB IS, NOT DIFFICULT, BUT NOT TOO SIMPLE EITHER. THERE ARE OPTIONS OF UTILIZING THE SPEAKERS INPUTS, SUB LINE OR SUB LINEL/R CONNECTIONS. AS I UTILIZED THE SUB LINE, I WAS NOT GETTING SOUND BUT EVENTUALLY EVERYTHING WORKED OUT.
THE SOUND IS VERY IMPRESSIVE. CONSIDERING THE PRICE AND SIZE OF THESE SPEAKERS, I FOUND THE 3 DIMENSIONAL SOUND AND CLARITY TO BE MORE THAN SATISFACTORY. THE SMALL DETAILS OF THINGS GOING ON IN THE BACKGROUND DISPLAY THE WIDE RANGE OF SOUND THIS SYSTEM OFFERS.
I FIND THE SPEAKERS PUSH A BIT WHEN THE VOLUME IS UP. NOT DISTORTED, BUT THE SPEAKERS THEMSELVES ARE PUSHING HARD WHICH JUST WORRIES ME A BIT OF DURATION AND FUTURE DAMAGE. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE REAR OF THE SPEAKERS HAVE AT LEAST A 2 FOOT CLEARANCE FROM THE WALL AS THERE IS A PORT HOLE ON THE REAR TO IMPROVE MIDRANGE BASS. WALL MOUNTING MAY REQUIRE A LITTLE BIT OF CREATIVITY TO ACCOMODATE THIS RECOMMENDATION.
FOR NOW, I AM USING THESE AND AM MORE THAN HAPPY. I RECOMMEND THEM FOR THE VALUE AND QUALITY OF SOUND. MY FAMILY ROOM IS APPROXIMATELY 20 X 45. THE SOUND IS MORE THAN SUFFICIENT.
Digital camera Review: Eneregy 5.1 Take Classic Home Theater System Summary: 3 Stars
The speaker system is outclassed by it's younger brother, the Energy RC-Micro. If you shop at Crutchfield, you can get the better Energy system for the same amount of money that Amazon asks for the Energy Take Classic.

Bought these speakers to replace old floor mounted speakers. Great sound for a great price. Does everything I could have wanted.
Digital camera Review: Energy 5.1 Take Classic WOW! Summary: 5 Stars
Recently purchased the Energy 5.1 Take Classic for my newly purchased Denon AVR 1911 receiver and new Sony Blu Ray player. WoW! At first I was going to put off all purchases because I could not afford the much more expensive speakers that I wanted to buy (Focal Domes). Purchased the Energy 5.1 from the reviews on CNET and am extremely happy with the results. The Blu Ray Sherlock Homes sounded spectacular in the 5.1 surround sound. I'm certain that the highly rated Denon AVR which I also purchased at an incredibly small price had something to do with it. But now that I have heard the sound I will plainly state that I will not be updating my speaker system anytime soon. I am extremely happy with the sound. I love classical music and can confirm that the sound was wonderful in the surround mode. Violin strings sounded pure, and the subwoffer was just right for the depth of sound. Voices were also quite true. Amazing. I also played a few latin jazz albums and they were magnificent. Ella Fitzegerald also never sounded so good. What a find. Purchased the speakers without hearing them, strictly on the expert reviews. Best speaker system for less than a thousand dollars, and I only paid 400.00 Great find. I guess I was very lucky.
Digital camera Review: Energy 5.1 speakers Summary: 5 Stars
It's to bad these speakers are disconntinued, they are excellant, sound is crisp and clean, such great sounds out of such a small package, and the sub really surprised me, I keep the volumn about 1/3 or it really shakes the house. Great speaker package!!!
