I have a 10 year old all in one boxed system from Onkyo with included 7.1 speakers. You can get a current Onkyo boxed receiver and 7.1 speakers for about the same price as these Infiniti speakers or a low end receiver. With the Onkyo boxed set you will also get color coded quick setup instructions and included stripped speaker wire. That's quite a buy and its what I will revert back to next time around.
These Infiniti are nice glossy black speakers and they have pretty good sound, especially for the money. It came down to these, and the Klipsch 500. I went with these because they were a little cheaper, had slightly better reviews and came with a more powerfull subowoofer. I however really like my 4.1 Klipsch promedia computer speakers, so it was a tough choice. Since these are for a bedroom I didn't think I needed 7.1 speakers, so I tried something different. I bought the Denon 2310 receiver and these. They will be adequate for most small to midsize rooms. I do not like the Denon receiver they are hooked too, and I think it hampers their true potential. I cant really say anything bad about these speakers, but I am not blown away by the sound like some reviewers are here. They are however nice looking speakers with good sound and I think they will satisfy most people.
I think these speakers and the Klispch 500 are the two best speakers sets for 500 or less. However, the Onkyo receiver and 7.1 speakers all in one boxed sets are the best overall deal for about the same money.

I recently bought these speakers and I could not be happier! I actually bought the Energy Take Classic 5.0 pack from Amazon and found the same subwoofer that comes with the 5.1 from my local Costco. I ended up only spending about $[...] total, and all I can say is WOW. Money well spent. I have this system paired to an older model Sony receiver (at least 5-6 years old) and the sound is absolutely amazing! Even when you connect an iPod over a standard RCA input, the Dolby PLII provides amazing sound over this set of speakers. I also have this connected to a PS3 and a Sony KDL-46XBR4 and I love the results. Great product at a insanely low price! Size and price do not matter when it comes to these speakers. I followed the reviews and everything pointed to a great value. I have been breaking them in for a little while, but everything is going without a hitch. I have gone through two previous center channel speakers and thought that it was the receiver not decoding or transmitting a strong enough center channel. Turns out it was just the speakers I bought.
This is a very clear, very powerful (for the size), and very affordable speaker set. I would suggest this set for anyone, but especially those who are getting their first surround system. Get a good receiver and these speakers will do the rest. Make sure to buy speaker stands or mounts that will hold them. They are satellites, but their size is between a small satellite and a bookshelf speaker.
All in all, a great buy. Definitely recommend to anyone with an average-sized living/family room.

i was unsure of what to speakers to buy as i already had a new Onkyo receiever. i wanted a set that was of good quality but not too expensive. i had never heard of the Energy line before but saw good reviews. I am very pleased with my purchase as it has great sound and the Sub will shake your house! Set-up up was not too difficult, you will need to buy speaker wire and a subwoofer cable. I recommend this set of speakers to anyone.
