Digital camera reviews of Epson PowerLite S3 LCD Projector

Digital camera Review: AWESOME
Summary: 5 Stars

I haven't used this product where I intensionally bought it but have played with it at home and it works great for the money. I used it through my DVD player and watch a movie against a white wall and WOW, I'm impressed. And it's only a 800x600...can't imagine the better.

I am concerned about the bulb life but overall I am impressed.

Digital camera Review: Amazing Projector
Summary: 5 Stars

Very satisfied with the brightness, resolution and image quality... I can play dvd's smooth and computer projection right out the box. Easy setup.

Digital camera Review: An inexpensive, sturdy, reliable LCD projector
Summary: 5 Stars

The Epson PowerLite S3 has served us well for several years. It's reliable, spending hours on with no problems. It's sturdy, standing up to car and air travel. And it's reliable - whether it was last used a week ago, or months ago, it just works when you turn it in. A good machine!

Digital camera Review: Awesome value
Summary: 5 Stars

Installation was very easy. We are using the projector mostly to display our satellite TV signal. The image is very sharp, edge to edge. We use the low power setting for the projector bulb and it is more than enough even in daylight. Our projector is only about 9 feet from the window shade we mounted to the natural pine wall and this gives us the equivalant of an 84 inch TV. Lets see if you can beat that for just $700. My only concern is that the adjustable image size was not as good as I had hoped for and I had no choice but a 72 inch window shade because that was just about the minimum magnification at 9 feet. But it is awesome to be "buried" in the scenes. To me, this is the only way to go for big screen TV. Now, if only the bulb lasts.

Digital camera Review: Best Money I Ever Spent
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought my projector almost two years ago and use it for DVDs, cable and to play my Wii. With a $1,000 budget, I bought the projector, a stereo surround system, a can of low gloss white paint and some black trim and built a home theater that will rival one that would cost 25-30K (if you bought a comparable-sized plasma TV). My projector is about 15 feet away from the wall and projects a 108 inch screen. I consider the quality to be about halfway between watching a movie in a theater and watching one on a plasma tv. I don't pretend the image is the same as a plasma, but the Epson's price is only a fraction of its clearer cousin.

I'll add a positive note to Epson's customer service. I had a problem with my projector (while still under 2 year warranty), and after talking me through several unsuccessful troubleshooting efforts over the phone, they over-nighted me a brand new unit without hassle.
