Digital camera Review: Can work for all phones! Ipod too.

Based on the excellent reviews of this radio, I took the plunge. My main concerns going in were the ability to charge my ipod and cell phone. The problem is that I do not have a usb interface on my phone. No worries. I did a few searches and found a usb adapter for under $2 on Ebay, which works great-not the best quality but sufficient for my purposes: to be used in emergency situations only. Now my phone is a old Nokia Trac Fone, so its battery life is quite different from most phones. I cranked for 2 minutes and got about an hour of standby time! I didn't make a call because I didn't want to waste the minutes. But I think I could have gotten about 5 min of call time.
Now for the ipod. I was quite surprised in this regard. It is a 4G Nano, and I ran it down to nothing. I cranked it for 5 minutes at 2-3 rps and got 30 minutes of play time at medium to low volume! How will this work for the ipod classic and other versions? I don't know. But I was quite surprised that I got so much time out of so little work. It will come in handy when the power goes out and I want to listen to my music.
As for the radio, I was able to pick up most local channels and the weather radio worked great. No problems to report. It is built well, and for the money it can't be beat. Great product.

This is a handy little weather radio. So inexpensive we bought several for gifts. It does it's job well and can be powered by solar or hand crank for emergencies. Since w live in Tornado Alley, it was a great investment for us.Digital camera Review: Compact size, easy to use

I like the compactness of this unit. It cranks easily and I definitely like the solar charging option as I get on average 8 hrs of sunshine/day here in the Keys. I haven't had to use this yet as I bought this unit to add to my hurricane supply kit but I feel confident it will do the job when I need it to.

I bought this while window shopping in Radio Shack (Sorry Amazon!). The build quality is very good. The radio is a solid piece with minimal squeaks that are normally associated with poorly assembled appliances. The solar cell does a good job charging for radio use. i always give it a few cranks for the light. the slider selector felt is little wobbly, but only a little. volume is quite loud when maxed out for such a small box. I have yet to try to charge a cell phone. Overall, very happy with the purchase, the price is great and i recommend it to anyone who wants a small portable radio/flashlight for the outdoors.Digital camera Review: Crank gear made of plastic broke off in 21 degree F windchill
