Digital camera reviews of Etón American Red Cross ARCFR160R Microlink Self-Powered AM/FM/NOAA Weather Radio with Flashlight, Solar Power and Cell Phone Charger (Red)

Digital camera Review: GREAT VALUE
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this item for my home disaster kit-It is easy to charge, compact, and the radio and light work for a long time on a charge.
I've seen larger units with a siren for $10-$15 more but they are more than twice the size and work no better-Portability is the major advantage for me.

Digital camera Review: Good product, and great value!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this product based on some research and reviews on several web sites. I love the size of the product because it is easily stored and can be added to any emergency kit without compromising space. The crank seems good, and I was able to use it about ten minutes with crank. Solar panel keeps radio charged well when left in a well lit place, indirect sunlight does the trick as well. Flash light is good, and has a pretty decent range for emergencies. Do not expect it to be as bright as a MagLite or something, but it will be powerfull enough to see where one is going in the dark. Speaker sound is clear for the size of the radio, however at higher volumes the speaker does begin to crackle a bit. It does have a headphone jack that would make listening in noisy areas easy though. The cell phone charger is the only feature I was not able to test. Overall I love this product, and it is a purchase I am glad I made. I would recomend this to anyone!

Digital camera Review: Good radio for emergencies!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this radio to have in case of an emergency. It is VERY small, which is a plus because you can handle it and use it and still be able to do other things. The flashlight feature is awesome since you just crank it and it will give you light forever, no batteries needed. It even has a solar power feature, which is great; plus a cell phone charging feature also! I mean, you just can't go wrong with this purchase for the price, it is a must have! It is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. Recommended!

Digital camera Review: Good value
Summary: 4 Stars

You will also need an adapter cord to connect your cell phone for charging. The type of cord depends on the type of cell phone you have. Est. $30 at Radio Shack.

Digital camera Review: Good, but small
Summary: 4 Stars

This radio is smaller than I had expected--about six inches across. The hand crank for the dynamo is a nice size and seems sturdy, but I have had some trouble tuning in to the radio stations I want to hear. It has a relatively small analog tuning bar and I guess I have gotten spoiled in being able to see the exact frequency I am hearing with other radios. It performs as advertized I just expected something a bit bigger.
