Digital camera Review: Honest Review

While this is not a perfect product, I believe it is a great emergency radio, especially if you are looking for two way communication during bad weather. I purchased this emergency radio for our local church because of the two way radio capability. This allows us to coordinate between a group of people located in different areas of the building and our pastoral office during bad weather and other general emergency's. I purchased a pair of Motorola MR350 radios to go along with this and the two products work perfectly together! The FR1000 radio is just small enough to take with you if you need to move around but it is also large enough that it looks natural in an office setting sitting on a desk. This radio is not really designed to be ultra portable because of the size. It is just not small enough. The reception on all bands is very good inside our office area. I would never pay full price for this product! I paid around $50.00 on Amazon with shipping and at this price it is a GREAT choice. If you do not need or want the two way FRS/GMRS radio feature there are many other emergency radios out there that are just as good or better for the money. I also own a Kaito KA500 Voyager and it is also an excellent choice for emergency purposes. The key before you buy is to do the research beforehand. It will save you money and you will get the most bang for the buck. Shop around!

Bought this to charge my phone only to find out several months later (after no response from Eton) that they do not make an iphone adapter for the unit.
Wish I Eton would have at least put something like that on their website.

Just got my FR1000 which seems to be well built and do all the things advertised. I am not sure who wrote the instruction manual but it needs serious revision. Several details either not covered or information given is incorrect. My only complaint at this point is how the heck would you charge a cell phone with this device? While there is a charging port, I have never owned a cell phone that had a plug that would fit the port provided. I hope Eton can shed some light by contacting them. This is truly an "emergency" radio as the sound quality is nothing you would want to listen to for very long!Digital camera Review: Radio Review

The radio doesn't get good reception. We had to attach an antenna, and still can't hear it well. I figured with the quality and price, it should receive better than it does.
