Digital camera Review: Deceptive Advertisement
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this at Christmas time and have since returned it (kudos to Amazon for an easy return process, but non-kudos for promising to refund all my money and then shorting me!).

Nutshell: The pictures and description of the product clearly show that it has a TV-VHF capability. It was *the* reason I bought it. When I took the product out of the box, no TV-VHF setting. No TV-VHF band on the dial. I checked the web site to make sure I wasn't just plain stupid in picking the wrong item. Nope. I checked the model number on the product: FR-300, which matched the item description on the website.

I have no idea what happened, but I'm not willing to try to buy this product again, for fear of getting another product lacking the very feature I am buying. I guess I'll have to wait until I see the item in person to know if I'm getting what I'm actually paying for.

So, my warning to you all: check the radio as soon as you get it and make sure it has TV-VHF, because there are radios labeled FR-300 which don't!

Bah, Amazon!

Digital camera Review: Defeats itself
Summary: 2 Stars

The main reason I got this radio was because it was a Windup Radio. One minute of winding got me about 10 minutes of Radio time. Now, the battery won't even hold five minutes of Radio time. For $50's I would have expected a whole lot more. Everything else works fine, except for the fact that you can't rely on it in an emergency unless you get someone to constantly wind it for you - but that's not very realistic.

Pro: Radio reception
Radio fine tune dial
Preset Weather Channels

Con: No battery life
LED light is too weak to do anything realistic with
You must 'send in' for your cell phone charger - which I haven't gotten still one month later.

Digital camera Review: EMERGENCY CRANK RADIO
Summary: 5 Stars

Everyone should own an Eton emergency crank radio. It will run off an adapter, off batteries or by hand crank. Whether you live on the East coast (hurricanes), in the Midwest (thunderstorms & tornadoes), or on the West coast (earthquakes), you can never tell when an emergency will require the use of a radio. Even if you only have to use it once, it will more than pay for itself. It is also great out on a boat. I have used it a few times just to experiment with it's capabilities, and am very pleased.

Digital camera Review: Emergency radio
Summary: 5 Stars

This item worked as advertised and is a good item to have in any home that could be in a storm area.

Digital camera Review: Engineers didn't think it thru...
Summary: 3 Stars

All in all, a good radio. We lost power during a bad storm and tried using. Unfortunately, when I cranked up the power and turned on the light, it shined directly into my face, rendering my light soaked pupils usless when navigating the radio dial.
