Digital camera Review: Great as a cheap alternative for musicians

I am a music student at a big ten school, and during band rehearsals I would often leave with my ears ringing. I already have years of damage from drum line in high school, so I knew I had to start protecting what hearing I had left. Traditional earplugs greatly alter the sound, which in a band or orchestra is not desirable at all. These earplugs preserve sound quality while still providing adequate protection for the ears. They are a great alternative to custom made earplugs which can costs hundreds of dollars. The only con I noticed was it can be difficult at times to hear other talking while wearing the earplugs, but once you begin wearing these earplugs you will realize just how loud the environment is around you. I would highly recommend these to anyone and especially to performing musicians.Digital camera Review: Great earplugs

Great fitting plugs that bring all the decibels down instead of just cutting the high and low frequencies. As a bass player I need to keep my hearing AND hear the drummer and these are a great cheap fix. Definately not as good as going to an audiologist for some custom plugs, but for the price a good option. The fit takes some getting used to and I got a lot of jokes made at how they look sticking out of my ears, but at least at the end of the first show I used them I could still hear those comments.Digital camera Review: Great for Musicians!

These earplugs are a miracle to any high-pitched instrument players like myself. I play the piccolo alongside 26 others in my marching band. Let me tell you, having that many piccolos together is a crime, but having these ear plugs on hand is a MIRACLE. Ever since I got them, I'm able to protect my ears from exploding (from the high pitches) and it also helps me tune. Tuning piccolos is KEY in a large group...and I can hear myself clearly with these ear plugs.
One downside is the fact that they stick out the side of your head like antennaes...but people around you will get used to it.

I have had a very had time with ear plugs and use them quite frequently. These ear plugs are extremely easy to use and to fit in your ear. My ears have always had problems with ear plugs not staying in and these went in easy and did not fall out. They block noise extremely well and i like the case and cord that they come with. I enjoy going to concerts, but almost all bands/groups have the volume up way too much for me. It actually gives me pain, and I'm sure it's not good for my hearing. I don't want to use simple ear plugs, because this muffles the sound and pretty much destroys the musical content of a concert. The Etymotic Research musician plugs work great. They reduce the volume enough to stop the pain, but don't change the frequency band of the music, so it still sounds good. These are a terrific option for people who find live music too loud.
