Digital camera Review: (Un)protective case for iPhone 3GS
Summary: 2 Stars
The case itself might protect the iPhone from external forces like dropping the phone or leaving it on the hard surfaces, but the case doesn't give internal protection. I use this case for about 6 months now, and I was satisfied with it until recently, when I noticed two almost half inch long scratches in the back of the phone that go parallel with the upper(+) volume button, on about a third inch distance from it. I'm confident that those scratches are made from the case itself because they go straight and are parallel to each other. It's a consequence of the case sliding it out when I wanted to clean the back of the phone from the dust and then putting it back again (I was doing it about two times a month).
The second thing I don't like with this case is when you open/close the bottom for docking, the case scratches the lower part of the silver metal ring, on the left and right bottom angles. It's the metal part that circumvents the phone edges (the antenna).
As mentioned above, this case might give certain external protection, but does it worth when the case ITSELF scratches the phone? A situation that I never expected at first place, after all those positive reviews.
And yes, it makes the phone bulkier, which I definitely wouldn't mind if it protected the phone as I expected. It goes like you are paying money for you iPhone to get couple of scratches on the back and un-glossy silver ring (antenna).
I would never buy the case if I knew that beforehand, If you want to 100% protection of your iPhone, the sillicon or leather caseas might be the solution - not the plastic ones.
