This product is terrible. I just received my second unit today and I'm having the exact same problem as I had with my first - it will not charge and will not turn on. It's incredibly frustrating. I've tried resetting the unit using both of the methods described on their web site and have spoken with their deficient tech support on multiple occasions - they seemed as helpless and dejected as I was. Minor issues I can handle, a single dud unit I can understand, but a product that consistently fails at it sole function is completely unacceptable. I'm done with it. I had heard many good things re the Flip before buying it, but it has surpassed my expectations in every way. It is dead simple to use and has surprisingly good image quality. It's true that, because it is so light and small, it can be hard to hold it still while shooting. Also, while the lens does have a zoom, the widest angle is not very wide. But these are quibbles -- it works well and easily right out of the box. It is so small and light that it slips into your shirt pocket easily (smaller and lighter than my still camera!).
The most pleasant surprise about the flip is the absolutely stellar software that comes with it (ON the flip itself, no CD to install and auto installs to any computer you use it with). The software makes emailing and uploading (e.g. to YouTube) a snap. Best of all, the software has some basic editing functions that allow you to quickly and easily make movies, complete with titles, credits and musical soundtrack. This software is so simple that my 7 year old now makes her own movies and emails them to her grandmother.!!
This is a product that more than lives up to its hype. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.

Overall a great camera for the price. Love the size - so handy to bring everywhere and take out quickly to capture the moment. The videos are good quality and it is a very easy camera to use. My only complaint is that the camera, when plugged in to charge, does not charge all the way. I haven't had a chance to figure out the problem yet, but this seems to be the only downfall.
