What a great invention!! Perfect for taking with you anywhere and catching every great moment - Super item for mom's on the go (and which mom is not?!) Its not professional grade by any means - but captures the moment just as good as my big bulky Sony camcorder...and no tapes to deal with!
I bought two of these - one for me and one for my sister-in-law, that's how cool this item is. HIGHLY recommend!!

An object lesson in the dangers of idiotproofing. I'm sure this is swell when all goes well, but when it doesn't there's no straightforward way to find out what's gone wrong. I fear that we've lost all the video we've ever taken of our infant son. The program simply won't run; no error messages, no diagnostics, no nuthin', and our Flip seems to have flipped out since being plugged into the USB port. This camcorder is all that is promised. It is a very cheap way to have motion capture capabilities. The picture and sound quality are good but it is almost impossible to keep the camera steady during filming. I would recommend either buying a digital camera with video capabilities or spend a little bit more and get a camcorder that has image stabilization.
Another downside is that the videos are not compatible with iMovie '08.

This is a great camera. I got mine yesterday (the black and 30 minutes model). First of all it looks really nice. It also weights very little compared to most camcorders. It's also good that it uses flash memory because it is very reliable and sturdy. It's very simple to use and it has stunning video quality for such a small camera. The video looks better on a tv or computer screen than my $350 Sony HC-48. It is also mac compatible and downloads easily into imove or final cut express. It is also very easy to download videos onto a pc with the flip.

Overall this is a solid little camera. Considering the price it is amazing. You save a bunch of money on tapes and get very good resolution for such a small camera. I highly recommend the flip camcorder.
