Digital camera Review: Battery Blew Up

If your thinking of buying a pure digital Flip camera look around for something else.
This is my second Flip in less than a year. The first one I bought the key pad stopped working. I was lucky to have an extended warranty.
The second camera that was replaced the other one got so hot the AA batteries blew up in it.
I called Pure Digital to see about getting it fixed. I was told they might fix it but since it was past the 90 day warranty they dought they would do anything at all, but I could still send it back if paid to do so.
I just said the heck with paying to send back and pay for insurance and save my money and go buy another camera and it wont be a flip.
If Pure Digital reads this I hope you know your product is Pure crap. If anyone reads the reviews buy something else. I see a lot of products out there for the same price and you can get mem cards another great option.
Pure Digital will never get my money and I hope no one elses as well.
Digital camera Review: Battery's Best Friend

I've had this camera for about a year, I use it an average of once a week for maybe 10 minutes at a time (kitty vids) and the batteries have only just now started to go dead. I think that is amazing. Every other camera or video camera I've ever had went thru batteries like crazy, usually 4 batts at a time which would last only a few days. With this Flip thing, it's only 2 batteries and they've lasted a year. The savings right there just about payed for the camera itself.
For a casual user, who doesn't want to go broke buying batteries, this camera is brilliant.

This camcorder fits in your pocket and the palm of your hand, yet it is packed with incredible features. Record video anywhere, anytime in a very inconspicuous way. The image is broadcast quality SD and if you get the ULTRA you can easily capture an hours worth on content that you can then download to you PC just by plugging the handy USB pop-out into your computer or laptop. The built in software self installs on your computer and allows you to edit the length of your clips before downloading them to your PC and the camera even comes with a cable so that you can plug the camera into your TV and watch what your shot.
I was extremely impressed with the quality of the image. The image is crisp, the color extremely accurate and the camera self-focuses extremely fast as lighting changes. It is truely point and shoot.
A few years ago, I spent close to $5,000 for a camera. I hate to say it, but I can get comparable images from this tiny wonder. I think everyone should have one of these cameras. Digital camera Review: Best option for kids

Although I work with kids and video all the time, I was always reluctant to hand over my video camera to my 8 year old. Now that I've bought him this Flip video, he is so into it and edits lots of movies using Windows Movie Maker.
One draw back is the software. I was hoping that the videos would easily transfer to my computer with the USB but you really must install the software. Also, the software doesn't allow you to choose the location of the transfer so you are stuck with the videos alwasy going into the Flip Video folder. Otherwise, very cool and surprisingly good quality camera.
