The Flip Video is perfect for recording quick bits of video. It's handy and easy to use. It definitely is not as good as a camcorder - the sound quality is not great and it doesn't zoom very far. It can record for about an hour and the picture quality is decent. Downloading the videos to a computer is simple and it keeps with some pre-loaded software which allows you to edit, email, save, and make photos from the videos. It's a good product and fun to play around with. It's very light - lighter than a camera and is about the size of a camera. The Flip is a very cool idea. Camcorder in your pocket! And it's pretty fun when your out with your friends and want to catch some footage of one of them making a fool of themselves. But that is about where the cool factor ends. You cannot take stills, which now causes you to carry two cameras. I also had SEVERAL technical problems with the built-in software. I am still unable to edit on the supposed movie maker it comes with because it didn't automatically install and when I try to manually do so following the directions given in the troubleshooting section, nothing. If this camera were, say, $50-60 bucks it would be worth your money. But you are better off putting your money towards a decent digital camera that takes video.Digital camera Review: Cool camera

I found a review of this camera in the paper and ordered it. I found it to be what the review had said--easy to use and to download the images on your computer--I am just having a little trouble burning a disk with the edited movie--hope it is possible.Digital camera Review: Digital Video camcorder

We bought this product, Flip Digital Video camcorder for our sons, aged 35+, as a christams present. We were worried once we had purchased it as both of them have I pods and other camcorders. We had no need to be worried they were both highly satisfied with the gift, it gives them instant access, via the computer or TV, to the video they have just taken. It is so easy to operate just switch on and point. The quality of the recording is exceptional considering its small size. As we have just said, the beauty of the Flip is its small size, it will fit into a handbag , pocketbook, golf bag, beachbag or whatever you are taking with you. Think how many times you have seen something you would have liked to record in that instant and have not been able to, this solves the problem. Would I reccommend it? in a heartbeat.
