Seeing that few of us have firm hands and that his recorder can be a bit "jerky" in its filming this tri pod is an essential piece of equipment for the flip. I sit the recorder and tri pod on a book and record my sermons at church each week. I've also used it to record concerts. Without this the quality would not be as good. The tri pod is very flexible and can bend so you can video at various angles. Nice!!!!Digital camera Review: Cannot get past the smell.

I am sure this is a great little device if I could get past the smell. It is awful. I am thinking I got a defective one because nobody else has mentioned that this thing stinks like burning rubber. And the smell stays in your nose and gets on everything it touches. Please someone let me know if this is the case with all of these.Digital camera Review: Cool little tripod.

I thought this was a good idea when I first checked it out but now that I have used it, I see my purchase was a mistake. I went online to check out alternative tripods and bought a small aluminum frame tripod that proved to be a very effective soulution. The specific issues were the weight of the Flip Cam would cause the tripod to easily become unbalanced and fall over...also, it's too short, not enough height to be of any real value. I would suggest that the manufacturer of the Flip ATR1B increase its height about 3-4 inches more which might make it more stable and increase the height so that you didn't have to set it on top of books or something to get a good self-video while at your desk.Digital camera Review: Cute and functional

I love how the tripod comes with an assortment of colors for the tips of the base. It is fuctional and cute and works very well with the flip video.
