Digital camera Review: Awesome Underwater FUN!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

We have used the underwater case with our flip again and again at our local YMCA pool and we were amazed by the crisp clarity of the outdoor and indoor pools.
It is SO easy to use, our kids can do it. Snap the flip inside close it and turn a dial for voila' underwater fun.

It's easier to see what your filming with goggles on.
Would make a fantastic gift for just about anyone who enjoys capturing life.

The rubber lining continues to hold, we always test a double check with a tissue just in case before using but have never had a leak!

Digital camera Review: Awesome case with one flaw
Summary: 4 Stars

This case is a lot of fun, and works extremely well. This product is very inexpensive compared to other underwater cases. Once inside, the camera works great, the footage looks wonderful, and all the buttons work perfectly except one.

As others have pointed out, the power button does not work. As a workaround, I turn the power on before I put it in the case. Then, so the camera doesn't time out and turn off, I playback clips when I'm not recording. This is definitely inconvenient.

All in all, though, I don't regret the purchase one bit. It has been very fun playing with the camera in areas such as the pool or the beach. And the price is great.

Digital camera Review: Awesome purchase
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best money that we have spent in awhile. Took it to Disney World and had a blast on the water rides and at the Water Parks. Took a lot of abuse and didn't leak even in the slightest. We are a bit nervous about the information on keeping it free of hair, sand etc., so didn't take the cover off while in the Parks. Just a tiny bit dispointed on the volume of the recordings but guess that is to be expected when the unit is completely sealed. All of the feature buttons worked great too. Love this thing.

Digital camera Review: Bad Design, Another Flip Destroyed!
Summary: 1 Stars

I had the flip ultra camera for less than two weeks and loved it. As I live in South Florida, I really wanted the underwater case in order to film snorkeling and water park trips. I read all of the reviews here and despite some negative reviews I bought it. STUPID STUPID STUPID! I did the tissue test and the tisue stayed dry in the case. All of the buttons lined up fine. I made sure there was not a speck of hair or dust in the seal. 3 minutes and 14 seconds into the snorkel the camera case filled with water killing my flip. The people who make this case should be ASHAMED of themselves. As soon as you push the power button in underwater it allows water to flood in to the case. By the time you realize what is going on it is too late. Another Flip has been killed. I did everything I could to pre test this out. Do not buy! It made my 8 year old daughter cry.

Digital camera Review: Bubbles came out of the case the first time I pressed the red "start"button.
Summary: 1 Stars

I put the camera in the case several times and filmed with it on dry land. All the buttons aligned and the silicon gasket lining the case looked fine. If I had submerged it first without the camera in it, and pressed the buttons, I would have seen that there is little or no gasket surrounding the buttons. The first time I pressed the button to begin filming underwater, I saw a string of bubbles come out of it. When I brought it back to the beach and saw all the water in the case I REALLY wished I had tested it without the camera.
Either the case is poorly designed or mine was built without gaskets. I am hoping to dry my camera out; I have no idea what the warranties say, but I only hope that my camera is not ruined. The case is worse than useless if I have not only wasted the $50 but destroyed my camera as well.

Update, May 20, 2009: Pure Digital has indeed replaced my Flip. I've decided to only use it on dry land from here on out.
