Digital camera reviews of Fujifilm 2 GB XD Flash Memory Card (Retail Package)Digital camera Review: Meets Capturing Needs for Big Trips Summary: 4 Stars
For years, I have been using Sony products and memory sticks for my cameras. Then before I went on a trip to Japan, I decided to buy a new 6 mega-pixel Fujifilm camera. The 2GB Fujifilm Xd memory card was a logical choice so that I could capture more video and pictures per day during my trip.
I took a lot of pictures and video, especially in Tokyo on my way back. At times I thought my picture taking and filming was a bit excessive, but I never managed to fill the whole card in one day! I'm very satisfied with the amount and quality of materials I captured with the card.
Before I bought this card, I had never heard of Xd and was worried that I wouldn't be able to use it with other applications. So far, I have found slots for this card on my friend's Japanese computer, my boyfriend's new computer and the digital printing kiosk at Walgreen's. This saves me time and the power required to download via USB from the camera.
There is only one issue I have faced with the Fujifilm Xd card so far. I wanted to add videos back onto the card via USB to the camera so that I could connect the camera to the TV to present my videos. I couldn't add the video data back onto the card that way, so I tried putting the card in the Xd slot on a computer and adding the videos that way. It seemed to take longer to add the data to the card than it took to download the same amount of data from the card.
Other than that issue, the card definitely meets my capturing needs.
Digital camera Review: No problems Summary: 5 Stars
We're using this in an Olympus underwater digital camera. We've had no problems, works with our universal memory card drive and through the camera's USB cord.
Digital camera Review: Note Type M and H xd cards are incompatible with some card readers! Summary: 1 Stars
Note Type M and H xd cards are incompatible with some card readers!
I have a Fuji camera and bought an xd card type M. But it turns out that type M and type H cards are not compatible with all card readers (even ones that work with regular xd cards) so I have to use my cable and camera batteries to upload photos from my new card, or purchase a new card reader. Ugh!
Buyer beware!
Digital camera Review: Obsolete medium. Don't use this. Summary: 1 Stars
For heaven's sake. Go to wikipedia and learn that xD is an obsolete media no longer supported as of 2010. Sheesh. It was a proprietary media Olympus tried to make people use in their cameras, and it's slow and limited in size.
Digital camera Review: Reliable & Fast Summary: 5 Stars
I've always gone for the Fuji branded memory cards and have never been disappointed. I've had several of increasing size and have never had one fail on me.
