I have been looking for a small, point and shoot digital camera for taking quality pictures when I'm on the go. The Fujifilm FinePix XP10 does just that and more!
The Fujifilm FinePix XP10 is user friendly. The functions themselves are fairly self-explanatory although a simple cheat sheet would have been helpful. The large display makes it easy to see when the image is in focus although some may miss the traditional viewfinder, particularly in the bright Florida sunlight.
The images are sharper than I expected from a point and shoot as the quality certainly shows in the 12 megapixels. However, in lower lit settings it's definitely better to use the automatic settings or otherwise stabilize the camera as the pictures are likely to blur. I had several blur during a daytime thunderstorm, which surprised me a bit. By adjusting the settings to automatic, I once again had crystal clear images.
The zoom works quite well for a basic point and shoot camera but again, a cheat sheet would have made the functions easier to understand. I haven't used the software included with the camera since I have my own and use a Bonzai mobile card reader to transfer the images off of the card. I haven't had trouble with the battery life although others have reported this as an issue. Please note that the power save feature isn't automatically turned on and you must go into the menu to find it. The battery is rechargeable, however, which is a definite plus for me.
All in all, the Fujifilm FinePix XP10 is a fun, sturdy camera and hopefully as durable as the appearance indicates.
