Digital camera Review: Divorce picture scanner

This scanner worked great and was a lot less expensive than any of the service groups. Able to copy all of the family photos (she got half in the divorce) in one evening. This was thousands of photos of many different sizes.

Please note that until sometime in 2010 (according to Fujitsu) there will be NO driver support for Windows 7. So, if you have Win 7, steer clear of these scanners until further notice.

Quickly and reliably scans multiple pages. Occasionally has some hick-ups, but as good as modern technology allows.

As far as ease of use, I rated a 4 because sometimes the scan button stops working after I scan a lot of items, and I need to reboot my PC, but that may be a PC configuration issue. Generally very good product, I'd buy again.

It does the job and does it well. The one thing I've found when scanning lots of pages, is if I slow down the scan speed by right clicking on the SnapScan tray icon (it defaults to fastest) then I have less challenges. Even though it scans like the wind, if there are lots of pages and it is going too fast the machine seems to outrun itself at times. Hard to believe this little sucker can move paper that fast, not to mention scanning two sides at once. Want the best, get this one.

Fujitsu ScanSnap S510 Sheet-fed Scanner

When I considered the price I included the $[...] rebate in my calculations. Without that rebate it would have been too expensive a product. I submitted all of the paperwork to Fujitsu, including the filled in form on their website.

After hearing nothing for a while I inquired and they gave me the cryptic message: "Another record may have been created, contact customer support" Following that link one gets yet another form to fill out with a request for attachments in PDF format. Of course, the site will not accept PDFs produced by ScanSnap or even from the web page. How ironic.

Now I'm waiting to be contacted. I wrote an email to the "contact us" link, and no joy there either. I have written an email to Amazon asking for their help as well. It is too soon to say if that gets me anywhere.

I do all of my XMAS shopping on Amazon and have spent loads of money here. I've had no problems to speak of until now. I am surely going to think twice about buying a big ticket item here if I don't get help from Amazon in shaking Fujitsu loose of my $[...].

I'd beware of Fujitsu given this and the other comments about customer support.
