The tip of the 12V adapter which came with the Garmin GPS broke off so I purchased this adapter as a replacement. It is well designed and is sturdy but the power cord is somewhat shorter than the original. That is no problem for my vehicle but could be an issue for vehicles where the 12V adapter plug is located far from the intended location of the GPS. The original adapter was also fitted with an LED indicating that power at the adapter was present. This adapter does not have a power indicator. However, the adapter plug for this unit is about half the length of the original and it is much more convenient for 12V outlets with limited space constraints. Digital camera Review: good value

It works fine. Only hitch is that it does not have the built in traffic receiver. If you don't pay to use the traffic alerts, then this charger is the one you want. Seems more well built and durable than the OEM charger too.Digital camera Review: Great!

This is perfect for a replacement or as a second power cord to move from vehicle to vehicle. It is made by Garmin so you know it is going to work with no problems. I would recommend to anybody and I have had no problems. Also, as "Cake Lady" stated earlier in her review, it does not have the FM tuner built into the power plug as it does not state that it does. I do not know why somebody would think that it is a FM tuner/power cord when it states nothing about FM tuning abilities for the traffic allerts, but I guess it happens to people that do not read the description. Again, Great Product at a great price. Enjoy! Also, just fyi, the package states the following as I was not absolutely sure for what products it will work with...so, works with; nuvi 5000,800 series, 705T series, 700 series, 600 series (I have the 660), and zumo series. Again, that is per the package from Garmin.
