Digital camera Review: Good product, but needs revision

I bought this phone expecting better reception and range, but did not see any improvement at all. Only major complaint is that the keypad does not light up like previous GE models I had bought.
I like the "do not disturb" button on the base that turns off all ringers.
Overall good product, but can be improved.

I bought this phone and really liked it at first because it was very nice and worked very well. However, a couple of weeks later, it got so that I couldn't answer incoming calls on it. The reason why this is is because the receiver has to be precisely placed on the base in order for it to work. You just can't just place it, you have to precisely position it otherwise it doesn't work. It was a little frustrating at first, but after getting the hang of it (and missing a lot of calls) it's okay.Digital camera Review: La distancia de alcance es muy pobre

Tengo instalada la base del telefono en la sala de mi casa, y tengo una extension en mi habitación, cuando cerramos la puerta la señal se pierde, si me muevo muy lejos de la base tambien se pierde la señal o empieza a tener fallos. Realmente el rango de alcance es muy debil y no me ha gustado.
Por otro lado, la presentación del equipo es muy buena, las funciones son excelentes, lo unico malo es que no tiene una bateria para mantener la memoria de la hora y el dia en la contestadora, ya que si hay un fallo en la energia electrica o se desconecta la fuente de voltaje se borra la fecha y la hora y hay que estar reprogramandolo cada vez que uno lo mueve o le va a hacer alguna limpieza.

I've owned these phones for about 8 months now. So far, the batteries are running strong and I've had a good experience with the phones overall. I'm using one of the phones in the basement, and sometimes I will pick up a little static on that phone, so the range may not be the best. However, the phones we use most often upstairs near the base have worked great.
A couple nice features:
PAGING: you can page any of the other handsets from your current handset. This comes in handy when the wife needs something and can just page me instead of coming down to the basement to find me.
MONITORING: you can monitor any of the handsets remotely from another handset. Just press a button and you'll be listening in on whatever is nearby the handset of your choice.
TALKING ON MULTIPLE PHONES: contrary to a previous poster, you CAN talk on multiple phones at the same time. Perhaps they were thinking of another model, because we talk to our parents on two of the phones at once quite frequently.
ANSWERING MACHINE: We haven't messed with this much, but there are 3 separate mailboxes and you have the ability to check messages through the handsets as well as the base. We haven't had a need for this, but I can see where it could come in handy.
I'm not sure why this phone has received such mediocre reviews. I've been very satisfied with it overall. If you need long range, perhaps you should look at other options. If you're not as concerned with the range and want a solid, nice-looking phone with good features, this is the one.

I recently purchased this set of phones for a second time, I've had them for about a year an a half when suddenly the LCD caller ID display ceased to work on two out of three phones, other reviews said that replacement batteries were not available but I don't even know if that would have helped the issue. Regardless, there is a "do not disturb" button on the answering machine that deactivates all three ringers with one push of a button, as someone who works nites and doesnt like to be woken up at 8am by solicitors it is a Godsend, enough so that I purchased the whole system again! Hoping to squeak two years out of these...
