This mounting system for the Garmin Edge GPS for bicycle seems to be a more reliable model than the one that came with my device. The difference is the way the Edge snaps into this mount. It seems to securely pop into the indention on the back of the Edge. With the original product, finding the secure point was always a challenge. In addition, the release lever does exactly that, without requiring a pen knife assist or raising fears of a broken lever.
All other features are the same as standard equipment.
Pro: Can be mounted on any size bar or tube.
Secures firmly with "cable tie" zipper ties.
Mounts either parallel or perpendicular to the bar, stem, or tube
Includes mounting rubber for some angle of view variation.
Con: Zipper tie mounting means destroying them if the mount is to be moved between bikes. If you own more than one bike, you may need one mount for each bike.

I've broken several of these now. The locking tab is very flimsy and will snap off if you bump it the wrong way. Since you have to remove the Edge daily to charge it, the tab is constantly exposed to damage. Unfortunately, there are no alternative mounts.Digital camera Review: Cheap mount

I've broken the locking tab now on two mounting brackets (one from the original set and a replacement bracket). The plastic tab is too fragile to be used as intended. Unfortunately, until either Garmin redesigns the bracket or I stop using my Garmin 705, this is what I'm forced to used.Digital camera Review: Cheap solution to holding an expensive GPS

Garmin really dropped the ball with this GPS mount. A 50 cent part to hold a $350 GPS. I've broken at least 4 of these now. Each one has had the tab break off. It's useless after this - certainly not worth the $10 people want to charge you for it. Disappointed that this is the only solution out there.
