Digital camera Review: Great for PDA or PC connection

The GPS 76 is the perfect portable GPS unit for connecting to a PocketPC based PDA or a laptop. I have tested it on an iPAQ 3835 with Pocket Streets 2002 and it works like a champ. I have also tested it with a friend's PDA using Anywhere Map (a moving map/EFIS type program for flying) and it worked great. If you are in an area that can get WAAS reception, the accuracy is even better. If you are looking for a great GPS that can be used stand-alone or attached to a PDA, this is it.Digital camera Review: Solid Unit with Great Battery Life

My Garmin GPS 76 purchased in 2003 has always performed flawlessly.
The simple gray scale screen yields longer battery life than more "modern" color screens. Garmin says this unit gets up to 16 hours use without a battery change. Compare that to taking your NUVI or TomTom out of your car's charger and using it. They'll give you about 2 hours.
And the GPS 76 uses 2 AA batteries. Simple. No dedicated chargers required.
Optional cables are available that enable the GPS 76 to be connected to a laptop PC for use with chart plotting software.

You can't get the marine bracket any place right now and the unit is useless on a small boat with out one unless you have 3 hands.don't buy any hand held GPS that doesn't have a bracket, I learned the hard way!
