I've noticed some improvements since my update, but I was going from 2006 vervion to this, so I should have. Running the update was easy and I didn't have Mapsource on my computer prior to this, so I have been able to play with that and find some new tricks. It was worth the money in my case because I bought my GPS new, but with an older map set loaded, but I'm not sure I will update again given that decent GPS units can be purchased for about $40 more now.Digital camera Review: Be careful

If I pay for an annual update, I want it to be reasonably recent. There are completed road construction projects near my home and other places in in the Southeastern US that are not included in this update. For example, an interstate 40 bypass around Greensboro that was complete in February 2008 is not on the DVD. Also my computer has a hard time reading parts of the DVD - I am no tech expert, but I wonder if it should be a 2-disc set.Digital camera Review: Best PC Mapping System ever !!!

I have this software on my computer; it came with my Garmin 2720. I USE THIS SOFTWARE AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK and often more.
I am a photographer and we have 6 photographers working for us. I print complete turn-by-turn directions for each photographer to the church and then from the church to the reception. We have compared our listings to Mapquest and this software is ALWAYS THE BEST!
You can plan a trip across the USA with ease and SEE THE WHOLE TRIP! You can use different waypoints to try different routes to see which is the best for time and distance. For example: when I am going to visit my parents in Mississippi from Ohio, the Garmin gives just the one route which works very well BUT we prefer to go through Birmingham, Alabama. Using this software the difference is about 5 miles longer through Alabama but better for us.
Around 30 to 50 guys go down to South Carolina each year to play golf. Using this software I always plot several options for everyone.
I could not do without this software!!

Amazon promptly refunded purchase price.
