I purchased this mount along with the Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS for my wife, and it has been great! It's a little bulky, but for the ease of being able to take it off the dash whenever we park somewhere more than makes up for it. Unfortunately it doesn't fit into the glovebox if you leave it all assembled (if you remove the arm from it, it fits, but that's a little of a pain to do every time) but it goes under the seat nicely. Also, the rubberized underside grips the dashboard perfectly. It hasn't slid around once. I definitely recommend this mount for anyone needing something different from the suction mounts.Digital camera Review: A great product

The original dashboard mount became weak in the summer sun (and we live in Maine!) and would not support the GPS. This Portable mount is ideal and solved the problem beautifully. Plus it easily moves from vehicle to vehicle.Digital camera Review: A little more inconvenient than I thought

After reading many stories about cars getting broken into because of the mark that the GPS suction cups leave on the window, I decided to buy this so that I won't leave any mark to invite thieves. The mount works well to keep the GPS on my dashboard. The friction is enough to withstand rough driving. The friction mount is pretty heavy and the mount is in no shape or form that is portable-friendly. It was bigger than I thought and the shape is rigid. My car (honda accord lx 2001) does not have a big glove compartment or big armrest so the friction mount takes most of the space when it is stored.
