A dear friend of mine gave me this mount for my Nuvi (after I had recommended the Nuvi to him). My husband immediately "borrowed" it (he is the kind that has to use his GPS to get to work everyday even though he always drives the same route!!). So, I had to buy another one (for my husband so that I can have mine back).
This mount is much better than the suction cup that came with the Nuvi (it never could hold a suction in my car). It also "travels" better since you don't have to have the stick-on disk required by the suction cup. Note of caution: whatever is used to weight down the mount appears as tiny nails in the x-ray screening machines in airports.

Had difficulties with a window mount on my vehicle. Bought this as an alternate soloution and I am very happy with it. Is a very stable base for the Garmin, have yet to encounter any slipping. When I park, the whole unit goes into the back seat quickly. I no longer have to worry about the suction cup on the window mount letting go while I'm driving, which was annoying, not to mention unsafe.
Seems a little pricy, but was well worth the money. I still keep my window mount for when I travel and rent a car as this unit would be unwieldy to travel with. For day to day use, I can't reccomend this product enough.

I had problems with the suction cup mount as it often fell down, especially in hot weather when the temperature of the windshield drops after you start AC. This friction mount has a much better design; it never falls down from the dashboard. It is also very convenient to use. If you have any problems with your original suction cup mount, buy this one. This thing doesn't move an inch, i have a small car and small dash and I was worried this would be too big. Not the case, it doesn't take up much room on the dash and it stay's in place. My Nuvi attaches very easily and can be quickly taken off and the friction mount can be put under the seat for storage. It is a must buy in my opinion.
