This is a great way to have my Nuvi displayed in my car, or even when traveling in a rental. You can remove the upright piece and it becomes flat to put into a brief case or travel bag. The non-slip surface does a very good job of preventing this from sliding.Digital camera Review: 3.5 stars

This product works wonderfully as long as the dash is fairly flat. If the dash is curvy or has a slope to it, watch out for this to slide when you take corners. If the surface is flat it works very well for most normal driving. I bought it to use with the 855T. This mount stuck on all of the dashes with no problems. It never moved.
Use it on a Rav 4, Kia Montenegro, and Kia Sportage.

This portable mount is a perfect accessory for your Garmin GPS. You simply attach your GPS unit and place it on your dashboard. The mount does exactly what it is suppose to do - It stays in place! I did not want the mount on the windshield as it invites someone to break into the car to steal the GPS. Amazon prices were almost half of what they want in electronic stores. Since there have been many Garmins with windshield mounts stolen in my area, I decided to order the Friction Mount and set it on my console. It works very well and keeps the unit out of sight, and easily disconnects and stores when I park. Or I just throw a sweater over it so it isn't visible. In 2 months of driving it has slipped off twice, but caused no damage to the unit since the mount is heavily padded.
I'm surprised that it works so well, and highly recommend it!
