I recently bought a Garmin GPS, and I knew that I would dislike using the suction cups that come with my GPS. I shopped around and found the friction mount. I put it on the dashboard of my car, and pop on my GPS, just like I would on the suction cup, and I'm good to go. You can adjust the angle, and the friction mount does not move at all. I got this for my Nuvi 760 and I couldn't be more pleased! It works great in both of my vehicles and it is heavy enough with enough traction that it never moves. I also like the idea that it can be quickly tranferred from one vehicle to another by just unplugging the GPS. I had been reading about the increased thefts of portable GPS units and the subsequent damage caused to the vehicles. One of the tell tell signs if you have a portable GPS is the window mount or the little circle on the windshield if your removed the mount. Not wanting to clean the inside of the window each and every time I removed the mount I started looking for an alternative and found the Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount. I've used it on the past 3 trips and it performs as advertised. Anytime I have to leave the vehicle like going into a restaurant for lunch, I take it off the dash and place it on the floor - out of site.
I would recommend it to anyone. Great product.

This dash board mount is very nice. You can take it with you from car to car, or any where you would like. It is nice because you do not have the suction cup on your windsheild. The mount is sturdy and I take it around the house when working so I can listen to the music I put on the GPS. The price was better on Amazon than at the local stores. I take it on trips when I rent a car. It takes turns very well and does not flip over. When you want to remove the GPS, it is a simple click release and leave the mount in the car.
