Digital camera Review: A Little pricey But Excellent

I bought this mount to go with my Nuvi GPS. I had to get a replacement after someone smashed the window of my car and stole my Garmin 320.
While the Nuvi comes with a suction mount, I prefered not to use it. A suction mount loses it's effectiveness over time. It leaves a mark on the windshield. To extend the life of a suction mount, it's best to not remove it very often. This advertises the fact you have a GPS in your car to potential thieves.
I travel a lot so I have to take my Garmin with me. This friction mount is perfect. It's easy to use and doesn't smear up anything. It is absolutely rock steady under normal driving conditions. Adjusting the position is easy. Once I'm done using it, I just drop it on the floor of my front passenger seat. (I put my Nuvi elsewhere.)
I thought the price a little high but it's a lot easier to use than a suction mount. It's also a whole lot cheaper than a new GPS and replacing a car window! :-)

We use this with our Garmin GPS system. It is perfect because our windsheild is deep and the suction cup that comes with the unit makes it difficult to reach the GPS touch screen to make any changes. This dash-mount is sturdy, does not shift when you turn corners and has an easy clip assembly for the GPS system to snap right in - A great product and must-have!Digital camera Review: A MUST HAVE!

This item allows you to place the GPS anywhere there's a flat surface that will fit it. Once you place it, it will not move. Works great on the dashboard and it also allows me to place the GPS on other places around the center console instead of the dash. It's the best solution if you want to keep the GPS out of sight.
Worth every penny!!

At first I was very skeptical of a mount using what seem to be bags of sand to hold my Garmin nuvi 260W GPS in place on my Prius dash. After reading the reviews, I thought I would take a chance and order one from Amazon.com.
The mount turned out to be great! In one of the reviews, I was forewarned about the mount leaving a slight footprint. The writer of that review was correct a slight impression was left on my dash after each use. At first I used Armor All to get the footprint off my dash. I later tried something different, I cut a leftover piece of rubberized shelf liner that I had previously used in the kitchen. I placed the "bumpy side" down on the dash, then placed the mount on top of it. This worked great!The mount stays in place and no footprint to be found on the dash. I bought the roll of rubberized shelf liner from Wal-mart in the kitchen section. They even sell this shelf liner in different colors as well.
I would recommend this product to anyone considering a dash mount for their GPS. Also if you have a problem with a slight footprint then I would recommend that you try adding the padding to the dash then placing the mount on the pad.

This accessory is indispensible if you prefer a portable vs a permanent GPS set-up in your vehicle. Our 250W clips easily to the holder and can easily be rotated for optimum viewing by either the passenger or driver. The friction mount base stays in place on the cowling in both our Saab 9-5 and Honda Ridgeline with no slippage whatsoever. It can't be beat either for optimizing security for your GPS device because the entire unit can simply be moved out of sight or removed entirely when you exit the vehicle. Unless your dashboard/cowling is steeply sloped, I'm very certain you'll be glad you got this.
