Digital camera Review: Amazing Functionality and Ease with this GPS
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the most amazing and useful toy I've ever owned. It's simple to set up and you'll have it working in no time flat. Easy to read maps, with zoom in/out, and the screen actually switches background lighting between day and night. Routes are calculated in lightning speed. Anytime you want to choose a different route, just hit the "detour" button and a new course is loaded for you. The 1 year of MSN Direct free is brilliant! Live traffic plus finding local businesses, gas prices is great. We'll definitely renew when it's over. There's a simple trip computer which gives you info on how much time/mileage is left in your trip. The ETA functionality is scarily accurate. Hooking up your Bluetooth phone is easy, and you can make all your calls and receive them through the unit. It even pulls in your phonebook. However, you can only have one phone hooked up to it at a time. There's also a simple mp3 player and speakers built in, so rather than bringing your iPod, just load the music right onto this unit. Overall, it's a little too big to just stick in your pocket when you leave the car, but it's small enough to put in pretty much any bag or pack. This is a great tool.

Digital camera Review: Another solid performing StreetPilot GPS Unit
Summary: 4 Stars

This is my third Garmin StreetPilot purchased for my family. The c580 is basically just a slightly upgraded version of the c550 that we purchased last year. While there are some imperfections in the directions in and around complex roadways - where new meet old - I would definitely purchase another. They are so easy to use that you take it out of the box and run it. The touch screen directions are user friendly, the spoken street names are easy to understand and follow.

The only negative that I have is that there is not a charging device that can be used in the house to pre-charge the batteries. The only way that you can charge this unit is in the car - that re-charger is provided. But it still is an inconvenience when moving it between cars.

Digital camera Review: As long as you don't decide to challenge it.....
Summary: 4 Stars

We find the Garmen 580 GPS to be very useful. We used it several times and it came through. Then my husband decided to use it for a trip he already had a route for. It took him a different way. Men can't deal with that. After a few "recalculating" experiences, he opted to pull out the written directions. Geez! I was furious and threw the GPS into the boot. I'm thinking women will find this a more useful tool than men who already think they know how they want to go. It's fine for finding places you've never been to. But if you already have a route; .... DON'T GO THERE!!!!

Digital camera Review: At the Bargain Price, Too Good to Pass Up!
Summary: 4 Stars

I'll make this review short and to the point. This device works extremely well. I bought it for my girlfriend who recently moved to downtown Philadelphia, and it has yet to give her bogus or misguided directions. If you are in an unfamiliar area, you will thank yourself for buying the item. (I can't speak to its capabilities/accuracy outside of a large metropolitan area, though!) The touch screen is bright and works well. A free year of MSN Direct is icing on the cake.

Here are the cons: It doesn't come with an AC adapter (sold separately), so it can only be charged with the included car adapter, which is just annoying. It is a little "chunkier" than the other Garmin navigators, so you can't carry it in your pocket. Occassionally, it takes a few extra moments to locate the satellites.

All in all, a worthy and recommended purchase.
