After I purchased this, I read on the Garmin website that any compatible USB cable will do. So this product is good if you want the GARMIN name on it--if not, you may find a compatible cable at your local Dollar Tree :). I purchased this for my Garmin NUVI 255 WT and it works fine. It is the same USB cable sold on the Garmin website which is the cable you need to register, download updates, etc. It does not charge your GPS.Digital camera Review: Good, 4 Stars
I am pretty sure this is just a mini USB cable which amazon sells for $2. Yes this cable says Garmin on it, but I think you could save $12 if you just use a mini USB cable.Digital camera Review: Great Company
