I bought this mount for my eTrex Legend HCx and it works great. I don't know why other people have had problems with it. The only problem I had to begin with was that the backing that came with the mount doesn't fit the GPS. You have to use a piece that came with the eTrex Legend HCx and put it on the back of the GPS for it to attach to the mount.Digital camera Review: Good bracket, but not perfect.

This bracket has a lot of adjustability, except you cannot swivel the bracket so that the GPS is rotated toward the driver if the bracket faces straight toward the back of the vehicle. Instead, I had to mount the bracket slightly angled, then rotate the vertical rotation of the GPS so that it's straight vertical. Also, the back plate provided with the bracket does not fit my Venture CX, though I have the adaptor provided with the GPS itself, so I don't need the plate provided. I like that it's compact, compared with the one I use with a Magellan Meridian, and that it doesn't seem to need water to keep it attached securely, like the Meridian's bracket. The Meridian bracket, though, will allow me to attach it quickly, and doesn't need an extra piece to secure it to the bracket, but snaps right in, which the additional piece required by the Venture makes the Venture less comfortable to carry when I get out of the vehicle to head to the cache.

This little mount is great. I was skeptical at first as I haven't had much positive experience with suction cup items sticking solidly to my windshield. The lever action suction cup on this is rock solid. It only fell off my windshield once and that was one day when the outside temperature got over 100 degrees, so I'm sure the car heated up and broke the seal. I like the two screw knobs for ajusting the position of the GPS. They are easy to turn and lock down. This is a great accessory and I would recommend it for anyone how has an Etrex with the City Navigator (or other auto routing)software.
