Digital camera reviews of Garmin nüvi 265W/265WT 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic

Digital camera Review: 1,300 mile road test
Summary: 4 Stars

Just purchased this unit before a 1,300 mile move from Oklahoma to Virginia. I own another Garmin (Nuvi 350) and absolutely love it. One of those pieces of technology that make you wonder how you lived without it. Anyway, the 265WT is pure Garmin...simple and intuitive to use. I'll allow the other reviewers to speak to all the unit's features. Suffice it to say, I found the features to work as advertised EXCEPT the traffic feature. In short, over 1,300 miles of highway driving, the unit never one accurately warned us of a pending traffic slowdown. At times it called our attention to a traffic delay that never materialized. Other times we sat in traffic and the unit never indicated a problem. Maybe if we spent more time driving in an urban environment the unit would redeem itself but for now, I'd skip the traffic-equipped unit if I had it to do over again. On a brighter note, the "pop-up" advertisements that come with the traffic feature are barely noticeable. Not at all distracting as other reviewers complained. That said, I didn't take advantage of any offers either. To sum up, a great, functional device but your money might be better spent on a model without the traffic feature.

Digital camera Review: 1st GPS
Summary: 4 Stars

does it's job-we wish we had the tom-tom feature that allows multiple stops en route to a destination, need to try the wireless/bluetooth still. overall it's been good

Digital camera Review: 265W Great Except
Summary: 4 Stars

Everything about the navigation is great; speed of entering information, maps, vocal directions, size of screen etc. However the bluetooth connection does not work very well. When first getting into vechicle it takes about 5 minutes at the fastest to load your phone directory. During this time you are unable to use your bluetooth. So if you get a call you CANNOT connect and you loose all calls thru the GPS bluetooth for the first 5-10 minutes unless you take out your phone and unconnect your bluetooth function. This would be a perfect 5 star navigation system if it didn't have this one flaw.

Digital camera Review: 265W or 265 WT?
Summary: 3 Stars

I thought I was purchasing a Garmin 265 WT. In fact, the box indicated it was a 265 WT, but I received a 265 W. Oh well, I didn't get what I thought I was paying for and paid $20 more than was advertised locally for a 265 W.

Digital camera Review: 265WT
Summary: 4 Stars

Navigation function is great, no issues there. I think you get a lot for your money. The suction cup works better than i thought. Touch screen works well doesn't lag too badly. Almost what i wanted.

Traffic function could use just 1 more level of detail. 3 colors isnt good enough for me, because it's always red and a couple of miles an hour determines whether i stay on the side streets or attempt the freeway =\.

Screenshot + speedo function :). Didn't know about this feature until i bought it. Verified that i can actually press the button while going 160 on my ZX6R =D.

Dislikes:

I thought it would feed audio/directions/voice into my bluetooth headset(s), but it doesn't. It only acts as a speakerphone to be paired with cell phone; works good for caging it though. Wont pair with cardo or chatterbox =(*.

I think the security function messes with the USB connection to a computer. I think the computer wont recognize it unless the unit is actually on while connected. It should just be simply plug and play (it almost is). This annoys me a lot, but i dont connect it to the computer often.

Overall im not sure the Nuvi765 wouldve got me the features that i wanted for more than double the price. I guess i cant complain.
