Buy the Nuvi 270 before you purchase Euopean Maps for your existing unit. This Nuvi will come in handy for my trip to Paris in May and drive through Tuscany in September. I would also recommend puchasing the case and the AC charger if you are a taveller. This is an excellent product for the price. We researched what was available that included maps of Europe as well as the U.S., and had we not have had this device with us on our recent trip to Italy, would still be wandering lost somewhere in Tuscany (actually, not a bad thing...). Seriously, consider this item if you plan to go abroad anywhere. Spousal disputes evaporate and you can focus on why you're travelling, not looking at maps. And it works well in the States, too.
