Digital camera reviews of Garmin nüvi 650 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

Digital camera Review: Awesome!!
Summary: 5 Stars

It would be hard to live without my Garmin...it's moved me across the country and helped me get around my new city. Highly recommended!

Digital camera Review: Bad battery
Summary: 3 Stars

I've owned this GPS for over two years. Shortly after a year of ownership the battery went bad. I can charge it for 12 hours and it will only 5 minutes before the battery goes dead. This is frustrating when you want to sit in the house and add some addresses to the unit. It works fine in the car, but when you plug it into a USB charger it goes into charge mode and you can't do anything with it but let it charge.

I've used the built-in points of interest about 6 times and it was wrong 4 of those times. It's taken me to someone's house for Wally World and has taken me on a wild goose chase for two different post offices. So I don't trust the built-in points of interest anymore. It does a good job of taking me to an address I put in myself. Occasionally it says my destination is on the wrong side of the road, but that doesn't bother me too much.

One thing I like quite a bit that I didn't think I would is the built-in MP3 player. Our car has an MP3 input jack. So we listen to music on the GPS through the car's stereo system when we travel. There is no interference like there is with the FM transmitter version. And my favorite part is that it pauses the song to make guidance alerts and then resumes the song right where it left off. The song is interrupted but you don't miss a single second of the music.

Digital camera Review: Beautiful device!
Summary: 5 Stars

All I can say is that this device is very well executed as far as user interface friendliness and the features it has. I bought this for my parents (they are not tech savvy). They love it. It gets the job done very well and works 100% of the time, so far. I am even thinking to get one for my wife now. I don't need one though, the navigation system is built-in in my head :-). On the other thought, if someone would give it to me as a gift, I would really love to play with it.

Digital camera Review: Best GPS Made
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best GPS that I've owned, and I've I've tried them all. The MP3 player is nice too, especially on long trips!

Digital camera Review: Best among Magellan & Tom-Tom Ive used before
Summary: 5 Stars

I had owned Magellan then Tom-tom. Last week I bought a Garmin Nuvi 650 and WOW this is really the top of the line among GPS.

Let me compare the 3:
Magellan--When you lost your way or missed a turn, this GPS is very slow to calculate.
Tomtom 3rd Edition--One of the best. It reminds you when a POIs is approaching like gas stations, etc. Very fast to recalculate when you missed a turn. User friendly. The only thing I dont like is it doesnt mentioned the street name and takes longer to recieve satelite signal. Though every turns is voice guided, it only activates when you are about to turn.

Garmin Nuvi 650--Speaks the street name and freeway entrance and exit. Very easy to use. Voice guided turns speaks ahead 300 meters away.
