This adapter is actually better than the one that came with the GPS. Whereas the original adapter was somewhat flimsy; this one is more durable and the top does not come off in the power outlet. Great buy!!!Digital camera Review: Bad Amazon advertising

Amazon advertised this as a suggested accessory for the Garmin GPS. However it was already packaged with the purchase of the GPS.
PS. Though I returned the power adapter, I have not received any notification concerning any credit for its return.

I had to replace the original car power cable that came with my Garmin i5 exactly two years after I purchased it because the original fell apart. This one is much more sturdy and I don't anticipate it falling apart (although that remains to be seen). I had to use Garmin's website to determine if this was the correct replacement product, though, and it is. Wish the description on Amazon was clearer. Price much better on Amazon (of course). I only gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because I'll have to see how well this one holds up.
