I have a Garmin Nuvi 255W and got this as a replacement car charger, as my previous car-charger broke. When I try to connect this to my GPS and charge it, the GPS screens shows as if it is connected to a laptop through USB. The GPS does not charge, neither does it allow you to view maps/navigate when connected to the charger. (The GPS has no issues, it charges fine using a friend's car charger.) I will try and return this product. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!Digital camera Review: Does the job

This charger does exactly what it is supposed to do. I haven't had any problems with it at all. On a side note I realized it is the exact same charger that fits my old motorola razr phone. VERY convenient!Digital camera Review: Does what it's suppose to do!

I've had this for a year and I've never had a problem. I am replacing though, as my 4 yr old unscrewed the tip and parts fell out at the dealership...and I didn't know. Oh well...Digital camera Review: Does work for Garmin Nuvi 760

I needed a way to charge my Garmin Nuvi 760 in the car after the cord that fit into the dashboard mount I had became finicky. I've seen similar reviews to my own problem: whenever I plugged it in, it would charge for a couple seconds, then stop charging. Each time, the Garmin would beep and say, "External power source lost, shut unit off?" -- that quickly became obnoxious, and the unit never charged fully in the car, so I just pitched the wire. However, I didn't have an original power cord that plugged directly into the Garmin (the other cord plugged into the side of the dashboard mount). So I looked this up. I was concerned because people said it wouldn't work for the Garmin Nuvi 760, but I researched the plug, and it looked the same as the one that I have for my wall charger. The plug goes into the small port on the bottom, the same type of hole that you can use for digital cameras (I know that because I use the same USB cord to plug my Garmin and my digital camera into my computer).
Granted, I haven't driven around much yet with this new plug, but it's worked the several times I've used it so far. The only reason I might need to edit this later is because you have to plug the cord in upside down in the car, which I feel like could cause long-term problems. But, it charges the Garmin and you can USE it while it charges, which is nice because you can't use it while it's plugged into the wall or the computer.
So overall, I'm satisfied with this product for the time being. I just wanted to say that it worked for my 760.
