It isn't tall enough to diffuse the flash. Flash either escapes above or below it so that the photograph has a diffused section and a bright reflective section. Also the diffuser blocks too much light. I suggest that you do NOT buy this. It is mostly useless to me.Digital camera Review: Exactly as expected.

I have read reviews of other Gary Fong products and never purchased one. I have been stuck many times without a flash and not wanted to use the pop-up flash on my Olympus E500 because of redeye and overexposure issues. I received my Puffer today in the mail. It works great! Exactly as expected. The puffer is made completely out of plastic and fits snuggly on the hotshoe mount. There are several hight adjustments (holes to mount the diffuser) and I haven't found the best height yet. I snapped a few pictures with the flash at full power and no images had redeye and the skin tones looked natural without any over exposure highlight areas. I was keen to try this product. As I pushsed it into my Nikon D80 hot-shoe the "patent pending mount" snapped into two pieces! I don't feel I was adding undue pressure, I was just trying to slide it into position. I never got to try out the product to see if the claims are true. Perhaps a different camera will work better with this product. I'm pretty disappointed with how easily it broke on the D80.
