- ALR - A new Anti Leg Rotation system, which means the tripod can be opened in less than 15 seconds. Simply loosen all the twist locks on each leg at the same time, then pull the leg down and tighten the locks individually.
- G-Lock: The Gitzo leg locking system has been completely redesigned in order to achieve a 20% increase in rigidity, faster operation and stronger, safer locking. G-Lock's special design also provides a "gravity lock" effect: the higher the load applied vertically to the leg, the stronger the lock.
- Leg Ends: This is the removable rubber feet provided with the monopod. This feature allows you to easily change worn out rubber feet or to fit other accessories, such as spiked feet or snow/sand shoes.

Digital camera Review: Expensive, but worth it

I got this monopod to use with my Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM Super Telephoto Lens for Canon SLR Cameras and it has no problem supporting that weight. I had been using it with an RRS clamp, recently got the RRS high capacity monopod head which makes for a really solid combination. Though most of the time I use a full tripod with Wimberley head, there are definitely occasions where a monopod comes in handy and this was a great investment to support a heavy lens.
