This GPS is awesome!!! I have struggled with trying to interface handheld GPS to my laptop for a couple of years. I live aboard a sailboat in the Caribbean using navigation software to plan my passages and have been frustrated trying to use my handheld GPS input which resulted in continual problems. That has all been changed using this new GPS and couldn't be happier with it's ease of installation and awesome performance. It picks up the signal below at my nav station, aquires quickly and performs without causing any problems with my computer. Past use of one of these worked fine on my boat with Coastal Explorer. With my new computer and Windows-7 it causes the computer to crash. Solution: install the old drivers for Windows XP. Coastal Explorer recommends you not use this product but I find it works fine on both computers under Windows-7 but only using the old drivers from Windows-XP.Digital camera Review: Can't beat the price and quality

Great item! Must have! I got a fix from at least 6 satelites in under a minute. Extemely accurate even with only 4 sats. Works with Streets and Trips 2006, iGuidance, Street Atlas, and after some tweaking Nroute too! :D I stongly recommend this product, even if you don't travel much, this can get you out of a jam in under 2 seconds flat. I bought this a month ago and had a chance to really test it out on a short weekend trip recently. The GPS worked seamlessly with my map software and tracked my car down the highway. When I was sitting still, it isn't deadly accurate. My altitude would change by 10 ft up or down and my exact spot would move around a lot but when I was moving down the highway it tracked me right down the road. It had my speed and altitude in the mountains and held on to the satellite signal. It was very quick to get a lock on satellites also. I was locked up again within seconds of exiting tunnels in the mountains. It is a great little gadget for a casual user who doesn't want to spend $300 on a GPS navigator.Digital camera Review: Com port conversion

Only tricky part for me was running the software for the com port conversion. The instruction were a little confusing. Other than that, works great now.
