Digital camera Review: Good little GPS receiver

The BU-353 worked nicely with my old Pentium Toshiba laptop. I use it with the OziExplorer navigation program and the GPS identified as a NMEA0183 "other" type GPS receiver.
The unit seems to be accurate to within 10 feet and does all I could expect. Just have to remember that it is only a receiver with no memory for waypoints, tracks, routes or the other things that a full up GPS navigation unit normally has. Of course that is why it is small and inexpensive. Use your laptop and a program and you have a full navigation unit.

Wanted to interface Google Earth with a GPS and this piece of kit was excellent. Had to download a special program called Earth Bridge to get Google Earth to recognize the GPS data (GE only accepts direct access to a couple of GPS receivers)
Now with laptop, wireless internet, GE and my GlobalSat I have an accurate live navigation system.

I just replaced my old Microsoft 2004 GPS receiver with a BU-353. I ran a quick test using Streets & Trips. I placed the receiver inside my motorhome. The MS receiver could not pick up a signal. After going through numerous Microsoft Streets & Trips GPS receivers (and always having to rebuy the program), this is a wonderful device at a great price! It works great, very accurate and is compatible with Streets&Trips. It also is magnetic, so it sticks to the dashboard, instead of sliding around all the time. When I was looking for a GPS receiver to go with my Asus EEE PC 4G, I read the reviews I could find and decided i go with BU-353 GPS receiver. My order turned up quickly at my door, installed the drivers and then plugged it into my Asus EEE PC 4G. It registered the location with 8 satelites!
We took it on a test drive and very much please with the performance. I would recommend it to friends & others.
