Digital camera reviews of Griffin Evolve Wireless Sound System for iPod

Digital camera Review: Excellent Product... while it lasts.
Summary: 2 Stars

This was a great product, and I enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately I only enjoyed it for under a year when it simply stopped working.
If it had lasted I would given it 5 stars in a heart beat. Great while it lasted.

Digital camera Review: Excellent for Ipod!
Summary: 4 Stars

The Evolve is an excellent choice if you like to play your music loud. The sound quality is out of this world. It's crisp and clear. It sounds just like a stereo. Also, the speakers are wireless so you can place them in different parts of a room for surround sound.

The only thing I don't like is the remote. If you want to switch to a different playlist or album, you have to do it on the Ipod because the remote will only shuffle all songs.

Other than that, it IS worth the money.

Digital camera Review: Fabulous value and quality for the money
Summary: 5 Stars

I love these speakers. They sound great, work well, and for all the features they contain they are an absolute bargain compared to some of the pricier systems out there. No, it's not a Sonos, and you don't get a fancy LCD remote with the ability to send multiple audio streams throughout the house--if you're looking for a different song in every room, this is not the product for you. If, however, you want to put your music wherever you happen to be (whether it be walking to the next room, to the backyard, or into the garage to putter around) then these speakers are the ticket. I bought the system, set it up, and when my wife walked in she looked at it with little enthusiasm and said, "well, I have sound in the kitchen". I then picked up one of the speakers and walked two rooms away, music blaring and not missing a beat, and she was floored. I'll definitely be adding some of their "Evolve cube add-on speakers" when they are available.

Digital camera Review: Fantastic!
Summary: 5 Stars

This was so easy to unbox and set up. It was shipped half charged as well, so I could try it out pretty much within 2 minutes of unboxing it. It's solidly built and looks great. The sound: well, at first I was pretty underwhelmed. I played all sorts of music at a very low volume level (lets say at a volume fit for a cubical at work). I was very underwhelmed. It was 'alright', but nothing great.

Now, when my opinion on this changed was when I removed them from the dock, took them (about 60 feet away) to the living room and placed them 10 feet apart on the mantle. I cranked the volume up pretty good. WOW. Now we're talking! It sounded very good. Acoustic stuff like Jack Johnson, etc, sounds best. Very clear and the highs and the mids are very balanced. Yea, the low-end (bass) could be better, but overall the sound is great.

Something else I was pleasantly surprised at was the "mono" or "stereo" setting. If you want to separate the speakers, ie: put one outside and leave the other in your kitchen, etc, you can set the base to "mono" and each speaker will have the full left and right channel. A very nice idea.

I also like how easy it is to add additional speakers to your set. It seems tricky to find additional speakers, but I now Griffin (at one time) had those available.

Digital camera Review: Good and Practical
Summary: 4 Stars

This product is an excellent choice for those who are interested in a couple of portable speakers to move around the house. We use this in place of buying a multi-room speaker set up. That said, the sound quality is fine, but nothing like a real speaker system, but it is perfect for what we needed it for.
