Digital camera Review: A pleasant surprise.

Having used other FM transmitters that required frequent retuning while on long trips, we were hesitant to get one for our iPod. What a pleasant surprise to to find that it is easy to change stations and get clear, continuous music while on the road. It does require changing the radio and the transmitter but this was easy to do with this product. An added benefit was that the device was easily installed in the plug-in inside the compartment between the front seats of our Prius allowing us to leave the docking cradle in place, with or without the iPod, and close the compartment lid to safely get the gadget out of the way and protect it from sunlight and possible theft.Digital camera Review: A tale of two fm transmitters

My friend has one of these and it works wonderful for her. I tried hers out in my car and it worked great too so I ordered the same model from amazon.
Unfortunately this one didn't work for me. Lots of static no matter what frequency I tried and it would shut off after a few minutes so I returned it.
I'm thinking it was the specific unit that was bad and not the product as a whole which is why I'm giving it 3 stars rather than 1.
Fortunately Amazon is great with returns and took it right back for me.

I absolutely regret ever purshased this item!
The FM transmitter doesn't work in any FM station, the static is even worse when using the ipod! The static is pretty strong, you can barely hear any music! I strongly recommend you not to purchase this item. It is total garbage!
I am furious because I cannot listen to my ipod while driving!

I just bought this Griffin RoadTrip for my girlfriend's 30G Video IPOD and it is amazing. After trying and returning 2 other FM transmiters, I was grateful to have found this one. The charcoal color perfectly matches the interior of her car and it snuggly holds her IPOD without any movement. I loved the fact that there were so many attachments to fit any size IPOD, I would highly recommend this product to anyone with an IPOD.Digital camera Review: After using three different FM transmitters, this is the best

I bought this years ago and it was a great product. I hardly ever had any radio interference, even on stations that had existing signals - as soon as I turned this on, the radio went totally silent and I could enjoy the music from my Ipod. Then one day I was being a bit of a clutz and leaned over my seat and cracked the adapter plug, which cut all the wiring inside it. Stupidly, I replaced it with a cheap Belkin transmitter from Wal-Mart. Bad move. I got interference everywhere, on any and every frequency. No matter where it was in my car.
Then I bought a Satechi 6-in-1 FM Transmitter. It worked better than the cheap Belkin one, but not quite as good as this Griffin RoadTrip one; furthermore, my 30 gig video Ipod weighed too much for it and it kept flopping over if I hit some bumps on the road. Satechi's trasmitters are not held by a firm plastic cradle like this one does, and even though you could screw the joint on the Satechi one really tight, it will eventually loosen up and fold over on you again. After multiple times of the Satechi brand flopping over on me, it broke completely.
Hindsight 20/20, I should have replaced my first Griffin RoadTrip with another one.
