Digital camera reviews of Griffin RoadTrip FM Transmitter and Car Charger for iPod (Black)Digital camera Review: An OK solution, if your car stereo doesn't offer an integrated solution. Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this adaptor, mainly because at the time I had an in-dash unit that didn't offer an accesory to incorporate my iPod to my sources list.
It is a great looking device, easy to use (some people who aren't tech-oriented at all might have some problem to get it working), but all in all, it's simple, stylish, good looking, and does the job.
The Cons for me are basically two: It keeps your iPod in plain sight (and even when you remove your iPod while your car is parked, might tip-off burglars to break into your car and look for your iPod, i.e.) and sometimes while driving over bumps or uneven terrain, the adaptor might come out of the power outlet in the car and that leaves your hearing the "static channel".
It is a good alternative, and should consider price-value relation while purchasing. Expect what you are paying for...if you expect hi-fi sound from your iPod, get yourself a new head-unit with an iPod accesory (I have a Pioneer in-dash DVD player with the Pioneer iPod adaptor, and it's just great!), but then you'll be talking $$$ or even $$$$ instead of $$.
Digital camera Review: As good as it gets Summary: 5 Stars
There isn't a perfect FM Transmitter on the market, but this one comes as close as possible. The one-piece design eliminates annoying cords, and keeps your iPod in a convenient and accessible position.
Digital camera Review: Awesome Summary: 4 Stars
Great. Charges battery while it transmits. Not CD quality, but still very good.
Digital camera Review: Awesome for long trips Summary: 4 Stars
This is a simple to use transmitter. It is a little awkwardly placed due to the location of the lighter outlet in my dash, but still in a perfectly workable position. Fights station traffic well.
Digital camera Review: Awesome product!!! Summary: 5 Stars
My wife and I both had an iMonster CarPlay and it never quite worked correctly. We live in the SF bay area (Marin) and it faded out in tons of zones. My friend's wife got a new stereo for her car with an mp3 jack so she gave me her old RoadTrip. WOW.....what a difference. I no longer have to find new stations and I can listen with excellent quality sound! I ended up buying another one for my wife.
Highly recommend!
