Digital camera reviews of Griffin iTalk Pro - MicrophoneDigital camera Review: Awesome little device Summary: 5 Stars
Ok, i'll admit that this isn't perfect. The audio is a bit hissy but for what I was using it for, it's perfect. I was using it to record my class sessions and test previews. It worked brilliantly and it's made school a breeze. No more scrambling to write down notes at breakneck speed. Just take the notes you can and rely on a recorded backup copy. I will say that it definitely pays to sit close to a quiet instructor. But pays back huge dividends in the end. One thing I will say is that it mows through battery time like crazy so make sure to bring a wall plug if you have a place to plug in close by. If you've got a kid or are a student who is an auditory learner or just wants a backup of any lecture, this is HIGHLY recommended. Don't buy this for the sonic clarity, you may be disappointed. But it does what I needed for sure.
Digital camera Review: Belkin iTalk Pro Works with 3G iPod Nano Summary: 3 Stars
The iTalk Pro voice recorder works just fine with the new 3G iPod Nanos. You just plug it in and a "Voice Memos" tab will appear in the main menu. You select it and then hit record and that's it. Your voice memo will then be imported to your iTunes library the next time you connect up your iPod to your computer.
Digital camera Review: Best cheap thing I ever bought... Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this as a backup recording device for emergency and for fun... but it has ended up being great. THe recording quality is amazingly clear and good, and even in a crowded room can pick out what you want it too. I've used it to record interviews, sample environments, and do little demo songs so that I don't forget and can use them as scratch tracks for recording... very nice, super easy to use, and small and cheap. perfect for what it is.
Digital camera Review: Blocks headphone output of Nano 2G Summary: 3 Stars
My wife uses it to record short snippets of herself, so that she listen to and correct her pronunciation of some particular words in a foreign language. She is happy with the recording quality, but it blocks the headphone output of iPod Nano 2G (the tall ones with metallic colors, but cannot play video.) I don't know if the full size iPods have their headphone outputs on the top, so it may work better for those, but my wife has to disconnect iTalk before she can listen. Repeating this step after each word recording makes it quite impractical for this purpose. Otherwise it works as promised; the recordings gets transferred to our iTunes automatically.
Digital camera Review: Can Transfer to iPod & Computer from Cassette or Album!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for a way to convert old cassette tapes, and I have found it! There is a place on the italk to plug in an external microphone. I ran a 3.5 cord from the headphone output of my boombox with cassette to the microphone input of the italk pro, and it worked! I did not need any extra software or equipment (besides the cord & boombox), and it was extremely easy. This should also work for albums. I love this thing!
