Digital camera reviews of Griffin iTrip FM Transmitter for iPod mini; iPod classic 3G, 4G (White)Digital camera Review: Expected a better product for the price. Summary: 2 Stars
I use the iTrip in my car mostly. It has to be placed right next to the radio (not the antenna) to come in clear. Anywhere else fills my music with unbearable static. Also, the iTrip dramatically reduces my iPod's battery. I would be getting 10-12 hours, but using this thing drops me to 4-5 if I'm lucky.
Digital camera Review: FM Transmiter Summary: 4 Stars
The transmiter works fine, but it is important to check for a clean channel in the city, which is very hard to find by the way. On the road the signal is clean and the sound as good as any FM station is.
Digital camera Review: First one was not working. second ok so far. Summary: 4 Stars
I bought one of these and at first it worked like a champ... then it seemed to just die after I changed the station on which it played. I tried to change it back but it just wasn't transmitting a very loud signal. This all happened the same day I bought it.So I sent the tech support email and waited... and waited... and waited... and nothing... So I decided to call (not a 1-800 number) and I did immediately get through to a tech support rep. He had me retry some things I already did and in the end told me to take it back to the store and try a new one. The second one so far works well and I did change the station and it still works. I have no real complaints about the signal strength at all so far. It sounds better than one I bought just for regular MP3 players (before the iPod). If this thing lasts a while I will be happy with it. It does eat up your batteries over time so I recommend using a car charger if driving in the car. The big plus with this one over the others is it is small and plugs into the iPod with no wires(wires are evil in my book). The instructions could be much better. When changing a station... u have to play the station "track" and as soon as it starts blinking u have to hit the pause button and then play some other song to test it. If u let it play until the end... it seems to undo the change and keep the old station. Kind of strange. ALso if u want to play all your songs on your iPod randomly u must be careful that u do not play the station changing tracks. Besides the initial problem I am happy with this second one very much.
Digital camera Review: Get it! Summary: 5 Stars
This is brilliant, there are so many FM transmitters out there for your IPOD but this is the definitive. Just plug it in and go. Changing the frequency is no problem and the sound quality is not bad at all! get one!
Digital camera Review: Good For Taking Your i-Pod on the Road Summary: 3 Stars
The good: Just plug it in and you can take your ipod anywhere there is an FM radio and get your music. Best option for this that I have found outside of a docking station that costs a lot more and doesnt help you in the car.
The bad: Regardless of what they say, battery life is impacted, music quality is not quite as good and my first one lasted only 6 months with only a few hours of use. After searching for other options that could possibly be better, I picked up another one!!
