Digital camera reviews of Griffin iTrip FM Transmitter for iPod mini; iPod classic 3G, 4G (White)

Digital camera Review: Best FM option
Summary: 4 Stars

I love my iTrip. It works exactly as expected and seldom lets me down. I live in an area with a fairly dense FM dial (Seattle/Tacoma) and I can always find a station. Static usually comes in 2 forms for me: if my car is next to a public bus or when my cell phone changes towers or receives calls/messages. For some reason, our public buses around here generate a lot of static on the lower FM frequencies (87.x). My T-Mobile phone sometimes generates a brief burst of tones through the iTrip, too. Other than those two annoyances, my iTrip is perfect.

The best features are it's size and portability. The inline power adapter/FM transmitter combo devices limit you to your car whereas the iTrip can be used with any FM radio.

Digital camera Review: Best iPod Accessory!
Summary: 5 Stars

Great product. Works better (less interference) than the newer iTrips. The default radio station 87.9 works perfect in my area.

Digital camera Review: Better than Belkin's
Summary: 4 Stars

The signal strength is worlds better than Belkin's version. The disadvantages of this item is 1) it drains batteries quickly 2) it's annoying to change stations.

I drive 40 minutes to and from work. I've got an ac adapter. Therefore #1 is not an issue and I never have to switch stations so #2 is not an issue either. I'd recommend this for anyone with a steady commute where they can find a reliable station to broadcast on.

Digital camera Review: Better than Others
Summary: 4 Stars

This is my third attempt at trying to find an FM transmitter that actually works. I live in the metro Detroit area and a free radio station is hard to come by. I purchased this one about a month ago and I've had success. The sound is as clear as one can expect and I've had little static.

Note: Don't expect radio or stereo quality from one of these. it just doesn't happen. If your looking for moderate sound quality and the ability to transport your ipod to the car, this is the best I've found.

Digital camera Review: Better than cassette, be sure to install software
Summary: 4 Stars

I got this as an upgrade from the cassette--which hissed at all volumes, so don't bother with it. Not sure why everyone had so much trouble with theirs; I installed the software because in my driving area (Dallas Metroplex) there are not many empty places on the dial and I wanted to pick & choose. It took about ten seconds. Even so, with some music on the pre-set station it still worked fine and has continued to work just fine with the iPod in the console cupholder about two feet from the stereo.
